AP HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett is planning to join a legal challenge to federal health care reform legislation.
Corbett's spokesman Kevin Harley said Monday that Corbett is working with counterparts in several other states. The suit will challenge the constitutionality of the bill. It is not clear where the challenge will be filed.
Harley says more details will be released later Monday.
President Barack Obama is preparing to sign the bill that passed the U.S. House last night. The U.S. Senate is due to start considering a companion bill shortly.
Corbett is a Republican and is running for governor of Pennsylvania.

I did support Corbett in his bid for governor because he was a fair consumer advocate while serving at Attorney General. However, I did not expect Corbett to be my elected national representative. I voted for other people in that task. To repeat, I think Corbett has the experience, wisdom and contacts to serve as my Pennsylvania Representative, but NOT to inter meddle in national political issues. Of course they are interconnected and of course the health care bill may cost Pennsylvania residents money. But if Corbett wants to get involved in national issues he should run for federal office. His decision to bring this suit cost him my support. I hope he repays Pennsylvania voters the money he is wasting on this suit. He is trying to undo what our elected national representatives did for us after consulting us about the issue.
